Games outgrew the stores that sell them.
Ahwoo is a games platform with fewer games and better terms for developers. We built it because the storefront model it replaces was designed around taking a percentage of every sale, and it has changed very little since.
The cost always lands in the same place.
On the people who make the games.
Storefronts take thirty percent, a rate set when digital distribution was new. Their discovery systems rank this week's uploads above a decade of work. Ten thousand games release each year with no curation between them. A purchase loses value as it ages. Each of those is a decision someone made, and each can be made differently.
Different terms, on the table.
85% / 15%
Developers keep 85% of revenue. We take 15%, where the established storefront rate is 30%.
Built for the long game
We build for the years after launch, when a game is still being updated and played.
A model per game
Paid, free, or funded by player contributions the way Kitten Space Agency is. We fit the model to the game.
Curated, not crowded
We choose what we carry, so the catalogue stays small and we can stand behind every game on it.
Best-in-class APIs
We integrate the APIs that already work and the ones developers ask for.
Direct to players
Updates, forums and support live in one place, so developers and players talk directly.
Hope this game makes it.
A small catstep for kitten, but a large digitigrade for catkind.
Great work!
Consider this a token of trust, because I think you guys have the passion to do this! Keep being awesome and let's explore the stars
Thanks for including this tier; keep up the good work, all of you!!
The model, already in motion.
Kitten Space Agency is free to download on Ahwoo and funded by optional contributions. The figure below comes from the platform's own ledger.
Built from inside the problem.
Ahwoo was founded by game developer Dean Hall and is being built in Auckland, New Zealand, by people who have shipped games under the old model.

Proof over promises.
Everything on this page is running or scheduled, and we test it against real players and real payments in public. The results appear on the platform itself.
We build what comes next in the open, update by update.
