Hello folks,
A couple of quick things to show you today.
First off we have Part Windows:
These are very much placeholder UI for now, but functionally these will be expanded to add functionality as we continue development. To enable this we now have part hovering and highlighting in flight (as can be seen by the yellow highlight around the part the mouse is hovering over). When hovering over a part a quick right click will open the part window for that part. Clicking elsewhere on the screen clsoes the part window. (We will be adding pinning of these windows in the future).
For now, the very first option (and only option for now) in the part window is to Decouple a part (and it's children) from the vehicle. This is placeholder as well, as later down the track this will change to be functionality of specific parts/subparts (separators, etc).
Clicking the Decouple button decouples that part and all of it's children from it's parent and creates a new - fully functional vehicle.
Please note however, that if you grab a build with this functionality in it though, beware, if you decouple parts that have no mass defined (and there are still quite a lot of them that do not have that defined yet) you will crash the game. This is all just part of the ongoing development and eventually won't be an issue.
This functionality gives us a pretty big step forward in gameplay complexity for vehciles and parts and is a key part of the current milestone which is fast approaching completion.
